SSgt Anderson is now a Bot.

Figure 1. An Accurate description of the Staff Sergeant Andy Model [bot]

Nothing really to blog about today except that the Aion Online Beta Event this weekend was a tease, and that I'm going in to the hostpital today to get another epidural steroid injection in my back.

Santa Barbara Weekend

Figure 1. Andy's Second Tattoo, done in Santa Barbara by Pat Fish at Tattoo Santa Barbara

This Weekend was a Blast! Wife and I had sooo much fun! Santa Barbara celibrated the Summer Solstice on Saturday with a big parade, you can see the pics on my myspace page. We stayed at Fess Parkers Double Tree Resort (Hilton family Hotels), let me tell you it was freakin' nice. The room was awesome, the ocean view from the back patio was awesome, (so were the bikini clad tourists skating down the beach!) also I would reccomend requesting a room in the "Fuchia" bulding of the resort, it's got the best ocean view, and it's the most quiet part of the resort. The city was awesome. The seafood was great, the whole trip was awesome. (can you say awesome too many times?)

Keepin' I.T. Real

Yeah, that's right, I said it...

After all the bullshit that we've gone through the last week trying to get 25+ computers and 2 servers back on the domain... (Since the 6 shop decided to re-image instead of doing security patches, then not telling us they were going to re-image, so everyone lost everything because the 6 shop decided to not back anything up, or to tell us to back anything up, fucking assholes!) We pretty much have everything back online, and the important ppl have their stuff recovered.

I sooo wanted to kill with my bare hands the ones responsible for this debacle, but their bosses all apologised to us very sincerely and promised nothing like this would ever happen again, and even fired a couple Sgt's in the process.

I'm headed out to a resort in Santa Barbara for a nice and relaxing weekend with the wife today, I'm also getting a new tattoo from Pat Fish (http://www.luckyfishart.com), known worldwide as a specialist in Celtic Art. I'll post a pic when i get back.

/facepalm it's monday...

Figure 1. Andy's weekend project; Setting up a new MySQL Server "Y", compile code "Z",and bug test experimental server code for Game "X".

Anyone who knows what this picture is, will feel my pain. In all actuality though it's not that hard, time consuming when it doesn't work like it's supposed too, it's also a lot of number crunching at times.

This weekend was pretty cool, we [wife and I] went out to a little hole in the wall bar called KC's, drank and hung out with sibling "K" (until she decided to ditch us and go home with some dude friend of hers without telling us) and played pool with friend "A" until around midnight and went home.

Saturday was taking out nephew "C" to Toys 'R Us to let him pick out a birthday present since we would not be able to make it to his 3rd birthday party next weekend (we're going to be in Santa Barbara that weekend). That night we went out and saw "The Hangover" with friend "M". It was actually pretty funny, I laughed my ass off.

Sunday was a lot of lounging around, and working on the SQL Server at home. Sunday evening we went out and had dinner with the wife's parental units at "Olive Garden", god I love the pasta there, SHIT; that reminds me, i forgot to bring the leftovers to work! DAMNIT! oh well, guess we're having leftovers for dinner...

Impatience

Figure 1. Andy Placing His Control Tower.

I can't tell you how irritating it is to try to log into "Aion Online" and a message pops up saying "Your account does not currently have access to the game".

I finally got my POS (personal owned station) set up in Aydoteaux (Eve Online).

I'll be on my way to my Surgeon in a few minutes to see what he has to say about my Herniated Disk (L4 S1 far lateral). He said last month that if the Cortical Steroid shots don't work, that he may do surgery on me. Well, the first shot didn't work, so i'm scheduled for another one on the 23rd. He may put me on the surgery schedule anyway, I dunno, we'll see, wish me luck.

Cooking for N00bs!

Figure 1. Andy's Cooking Last Night.

S.H.I.T (So Happy It's Thursday)

Actually, it sucks, Thursday is the day before Friday, so it's actually kind of depressing to know that the weekend is so close, yet so far away.

So I had my Parents In Law over for dinner last night, everything went smoothly, I cooked a Mediterranean Italian dish that had Garlic Shrimp, Asparagus, Penne, and Cherry Tomatoes, with Garlic Bread, Salad, and Rice. It was a hit! Everyone loved it, which really took a load off of my shoulders. I am extremely picky and self conscious about my cooking, if it's not perfect, then it's shit, and does not deserve to be eaten. (I've been told that i should have been a chef) Not only does the food have to taste good, but it has to look good too, it has to be presentable. If not, then the person you are cooking for will not appreciate the effort you put into the dish. Call me a perfectionist, or even wacky, I don't care, that's how I roll.

[first post ever]

Figure 1. Gallente Mothership [Nyx] from Eve Online "http://www.eveonline.com" My favorite MMORPG ever!!!11one

Ok, here's my first blog post ever, so don't expect too much.

My name is Wendall "Andy" Anderson, I'm 28, Married and bored at work.

I stumbled upon a poster in blogspot by accident, (I was actually looking for gameplay screenshots for a new MMORPG called "Aion Online". They go by the 'net handle "The Hermitage". I thought that the whole blogging thing was kind of lame, but after reading some of thier ramblings, I decided that it might be a good thing to start writing, or typing, as it were, to get some creative juices flowing. Hell, you never know, writing like this could even relieve stress...

Anyway, I'm bored at work and just got done downloading the entire soundtrack from my favorite game ever, "Eve Online"(http://www.eveonline.com), and am now listning to it, is that geeky or what?.

You may be wondering what I do for work since i just mentioned it. Well, I'm an Information Technology Network Administrator / Engineer for the U.S. Marine Corps. [Basically a Computer Geek with a TS Clearance and a pistol] I never really have a heavy workload because as it stands "If Comms are up, my job is done!"

Anyway, I think this is enough for now.
